Build and test faster with reusable placeholder packs

Paste your dimension list, generate retina variants, and download everything as PNG, SVG, or WebP. Keep Storybook, preview apps, and QA snapshots aligned without custom scripts.

How developers use PlacePack

Component libraries

Populate Storybook or Chromatic with alias-labelled assets that demonstrate every responsive state.

Staging seeds

Drop the generated ZIP into fixtures so Rails, Laravel, or Node environments stay consistent across deployments.

Visual regression

Provide deterministic images to Playwright, Cypress, or Percy and cut noise from diff reviews.

API scaffolding

Share the encoded link with teammates so everyone pulls identical placeholders during feature work.

Developer FAQ

Can I automate placeholder generation?
PlacePack runs client-side today. Generate once, commit the ZIP or encoded URL, and reuse it in scripts until API access ships.
How do I version packs per branch?
Store the generated ZIP alongside your fixtures or add the share URL to PR descriptions so reviewers sync the same assets.
Any size limits?
Base dimensions up to 4000px and retina up to 2x that. Enough for hero banners and high DPI previews without bloating ZIPs.
