Keep QA environments predictable with reusable placeholder packs

Generate ZIPs of PNG, SVG, or WebP placeholders that mirror production ratios and labels. Seed staging, review apps, and automated suites with identical imagery every run.

Where QA benefits

Deterministic fixtures

Store the generated ZIP with your test data so staging and QA share the same placeholder pack across deployments.

Visual diff stability

Provide labelled, consistent imagery to Playwright, Cypress, or Percy to reduce noise in screenshot comparisons.

Cross-environment parity

Share the encoded URL with engineers and PMs so review apps mirror QA and staging without manual tinkering.

State coverage

Use per-item color overrides to highlight success, pending, and error states inline with your regression suites.

Set up in three steps

  1. 1

    Load the QA preset

Use the QA preset to instantly populate dashboard, success, and alert states—or paste the dimensions your suite needs.

  2. 2

    Tag states quickly

Label pass, pending, or alert scenarios with a couple of clicks—no need to juggle graphics tools.

  3. 3

    Download once, reuse everywhere

Export a ZIP of deterministic assets and share the link with engineering so staging, QA, and review apps stay aligned.

QA FAQ

How do I run this in CI?
Generate locally, commit the ZIP or upload it to artifact storage, and unzip as part of your pipeline step. API support is on our roadmap.
What about upper size limits?
Base dimensions up to 4000px are supported. Retina variants are capped at double that to keep asset downloads snappy.
Can we mix ratios and fixed sizes?
Absolutely. Combine 16:9@720w, 300x250, and story:1080x1920@2x in a single pack - PlacePack handles the scaling.
